We are pen lovers, not influencers

Our story

Born in a flea market, raised by nibmeisters.

penlovers.net started when our founder traded a bicycle for a 1962 Parker 51. Today we run a workshop, ink lab and paper library. We buy our own pens. We write every day. We fix what others throw away.

From restoring sacs to tuning ebonite feeds, we believe a pen should outlive you — and tell your story along the way.

What is the best first fountain pen? +

Pilot Kakuno, Lamy Safari or Kaweco Sport. All under $30, all forgiving, all easy to clean. Start medium nib, blue-black washable ink.

Do fountain pens leak on planes? +

Only if half-full. Fly full or empty, nib up, and keep it in a case. Piston fillers handle pressure best.

How often should I clean? +

Every 3-4 weeks or when switching inks. Lukewarm water, no soap, air-dry nib down overnight.

Are vintage pens worth it? +

Yes — 1950s Parker, Sheaffer and Pelikan offer 14k nibs for the price of modern steel. Buy restored from trusted sellers, check sac and tines.

Does penlovers.net sell pens? +

We are a journal and workshop, not a shop. We restore for members and host swaps, but reviews are never for sale.
